Keynote speakers have a problem.
(scroll for more images from this session)
The need: when speakers are doing lots of speaking engagements (which they want to do), they need great shots of themselves for announcements, marketing collateral, and websites. And not just one or two. It's useful to have a portfolio of images they can draw from so they can always look fresh.
The problem: getting good shots in great lighting that are high enough quality to be used for the aforementioned scenarios. If you're speaking in a conference room, horrible lighting. If you're friend is taking iPhone shots in the front row, horrible quality, at least for a website and professional marketing material (sorry, friend). If there's a photographer, they may not be able to get close enough (and the lighting may still be bad).
The solution: recreating great stage lighting in a studio setting to capture real, authentic, and HIGH-QUALITY images to build a portfolio of marketing collateral you can actually use.
