Daniel Wakefield, Top-Tier Headshots

I was born in Canada but moved to several places around the U.S. while growing up.  I got married to my wife Bethany in 2012.  We moved to south Florida in 2015 and it was here that my passion for wildlife photography was born.  My wildlife work has been published in several books and magazines, and I have also placed highly in some prestigious wildlife photography competitions.  I made the Top 100 in the Audubon Bird Photography awards in 2018 and made the Top 15 in the Africa Geographic Photographer of the Year competition in 2020.  I also began to have a growing enjoyment of photographing people and capturing genuine expression.

Early on in my photographic journey, I noticed that people often have very forced expressions when you tell them to “smile.”  However, if you can get people to relax in front of the camera, not only do they enjoy the experience more, they also come away with images that showcase genuine expression.

This interest in capturing genuine expression was heightened when I began to be taught by Peter Hurley and his Headshot Crew.  Peter is widely considered to be the best headshot photographer in the world and learning from him has taken my headshot photography to the next level. I am now an Associate Photographer of Peter Hurley and a two-time Headshot of the Week winner in his Crew.

My wife, Bethany, and I live in Deerfield Beach, Florida with our four children.  I’m so thankful for them and all the tremendous blessings that God has given to me.  Most of all, I’m thankful for the grace of God given to me in Jesus Christ.

I look forward to serving you and giving you your best headshot experience yet!
